 HOBBYIST FULFILS A BOYHOOD DREAM
(ABOUT MR. TEOH'S OBSERVATORY)
It is supposed to be the First Malaysia-made 10 ft - diameter fiberglass dome observatory and the biggest homemade equatorial mount (3 inch-shaft with carrying capacity of about 30kg of equipments)
The objective of the observatory :
 To let people know“If I can make it why not you?”
To open to school and group who are interested in astronomy. So far there are more than 50 groups of people visited the Observatory. People from Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Philippine are among the visitors
To promote astronomy and make awareness the important of astronomy in our country in achieving 2020 vision.
The observatory is still undergoing modification and improvement.

Four storey Metal building with fiberglass dome

Dome able to rotate in clockwise and anti-clockwise.
Two Dome shutters able to open to 36 inch wide
The dome is rotated by electric motor
Equipment consisted of 12.5” reflector mounted to an equatorial mount
The above features are locally assembled and designed. |
